Pumi ethnic traditional dance and songs showed on Straznice International Folklore Festival

From June 22 to 24, the 73rd International Folklore Festival was held in the town of Straznice. The Pumi traditional Culture Group of Lanping County, Nujiang Prefecture, was invited to participate in seven performances of the festival.

On the opening ceremony, Pumi artists displayed traditional ethnic dance and songs: Four String Play, Oral String Play, Worship Dragon Tune and Cuo Cuo which are popular by the local citizens. During the parade on the busiest main road in Straznice, a group from Pumi, Lanping County, and more than a dozen performing teams from Mexico, Indonesia, Russia, Hungary and the Czech Republic, dressed in national costumes, dancing to the center stage of Liberty Square with the cheerful music. During the tour, the Pumi traditional culture group of Lanping County presented several popular folk songs and dances to the audience. Tens of thousands of local citizens and tourists gathered on the streets to enjoy the show.
This is the first time I have seen Pumi song and dance performance. I am very excited and very proud to be able to enjoy it in a foreign country. " Ms. Yu, an overseas Chinese resident in Brno, said excitedly to the reporter.
It is understood that Straznice International Folklore Festival is the biggest art festival in the Czech Republic, held every year since 1945, with more than 30,000 citizens and tourists attending each year.(Nujiang Newspaper/Ji Yang)
